Materialize simplifies shoulder surgery

Materialize is launching a new product for surgeons, TRUMATCH Personalized Solutions, for planning operations in the shoulder joint, such as reversible arthroplasty of the shoulder joint (RSA) and anatomical total arthroplasty of the shoulder joint (TSA). Due to the complexity of such operations, the new product is designed to help the surgeon to make more informed decisions at the planning stage, and not during the operation.

The new medical system of shoulder processing TRUMATCH Personalized Solutions allows to access the virtual all-in-one platform, where you can position the implant in a three-dimensional pre-planning system as part of a stable reference system that is associated with the entire scapula, and as a result of planning to order individual 3D printed shoulder implants for the patient.

“3D planning is gaining popularity with orthopedic surgeons performing operations on the shoulder joint. Together with our strategic partners, such as DePuy Synthes, we are constantly working to improve our surgical planning processes for a number of operations. We are proud that this expanded collaboration will allow even more surgeons to discover the benefits of online planning and patient-focused 3D printing”shared Fried Vankraen, founder and CEO of Materialize.

The combination of three-dimensional surgical planning and 3D printing has already significantly changed the lives of many patients, one of such cases was written in the article “Cancer patients were printed with new ribs”.
