ARES KREATOR - a new, 2 in 1 system from the Italian company CMS and the German Institute Fraunhofer IWU, combining the functions of a 3D printer and a processing center is used for the ultra-fast production of composite parts from thermoplastics with the possibility of their subsequent processing by milling.

Combining the functions of a large-sized 3D printer and a machining center, ARES KREATOR will find its application in various areas of industry, from the manufacture of high-precision prototypes to the production of tooling. The solution is available in various configurations and sizes, additionally it will work with a wide range of materials based on plastics, the main ones will be ABS, PA and high-tech polymers filled with carbon fiber or fiberglass, and the proportion of the latter can be up to 40 percent.

Remarkable fact is  that the system will use granulate rather than filament as a material for 3D printing, which means that materials will be more accessible and much cheaper than plastic in the form of a filament.
