Stratasys are developing a new platform for 3D metal printing

Stratasys - one of the most influential companies in the market of additive technologies, shared information on the development of a new 3D printer for printing with metals, which "they have been developing for several years" and working on the patented technology of inkjet printing. This machine is designed to meet the need for a quick start in the production of metal products, overcoming the restrictions on working with materials that manufacturers of 3D metal printers have. The new equipment will be aimed at companies that want to produce pilot batches of products, small series of new products or those that no longer produce, as well as "customized, lightweight and simple parts of complex shape." The 3D printer will work with all widely used powders, including aluminum, at an economical cost and performance.

“We are very pleased to announce the development of a new platform for additive manufacturing, aimed at meeting the needs of small-scale production for a wide variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, defense, machining and foundry,” said Ilan Levin, CEO of Stratasys. “We believe that this platform will significantly expand our markets in the long term and provide our customers with an effective tool for additive manufacturing of parts using metal powders.”

More detailed information about the new technology of Stratasys 3D printing with metals will be presented at the exhibition RAPID + TCT, April 23-26, 2018.
